Last two days of our trip were spent in the northern town of Paihia which had the most unusual public toilet I've seen.

No, not the movie, the NZ trip still....

Stopped at the most amazing glass garden - also bought a beautiful tree trunk wine glass, hand blown by the craftsman there. I stressed about that bloody thing all the way home, worrying that it would be broken, although you could have wrapped an elephant in the bubble wrap that they used to pack it.

We left Lake Taupo on Tuesday late morning-ish, but not before a stop at McDonalds. Not that we ate there, but I'd read that it was one of the most unique McDonalds in the world so we had to see for ourselves. I mean, how unique can a McDonalds be?

Day after the wedding we drove down to Lake Taupo where we spent a couple of days. Lake Taupo is roughly the size of Singapore and is located almost at the centre of the North Island. At the end of every year I'm amazed at how quickly the year has gone; this year was the quickest of them all, having passed in a blur. I think it's due to my job, and how busy we were in 2015, with almost constant (read: four nights a week and at least a couple of hours on the weekend) overtime. Aargh! What is it about this time of year that has me sneezing and wheezing and all hay-fevery - it's autumn for goodness sake! There's no pollen about! My final New Zealand post. While staying in Queenstown we took a day trip to Milford Sound, which would have to be one of the most picturesque parts of the country. Queenstown is the action-adventure capital of New Zealand. Anything you could imagine doing, you can find here; zorbing, white water rafting, abseiling, rock climbing, paragliding, bungee jumping, they're all available in Queenstown.
I'm not *quite* as adventurous as some, but I still had a blast.
